The Hampton Inn in downtown Charleston is great. The breakfast is better than most of the "continental breakfast" hotels. They actually have "hot" items...such as waffles; sausage; eggs; biscuits; gravy, etc. We were there over July 4th weekend and the hotel was full..but we never had a problem finding a seat/table at breakfast. There was seating outside in the courtyard... more

The building is a converted burlap factory (c.1860 ante bellum) and has been beautifully and tastefully restored to make one fell he is in old Charleston even if he never left the hotel. The staff and rooms were wonderful. The breakfast was very good even better when eaten on the terrace by the pool. The visitors centre is right across... more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Historic Charleston for work for 8 days. At first glance I was impressed with the hotel. When you first see it it’s in a nice area of town, a little far from the major attractions (about a mile walk to get to stuff), but nice. I checked in and got all settled, turned... more

Just got back from a weekend trip to Charleston. Found this hotel to be very clean, great location, great service. The breakfast wasn't as good as some of the other complimentary breakfasts you will find but it didn't bother us - we found plenty to eat. The staff was helpful and it really is nice to be right across from... more

this is a good place to stay, right across from visitor center and shuttle stop.the room was a good value-no view, but after all the sightseeing, who cares? adequate and clean, lobby is nice. parking is strange-you have to park in the public garage right next to hotel, but you really don't need a car here. the shuttle service is... more

This hotel is in a good location, literally across the street from the visitor center where the tours leave from. Close to King ave and many restaurants and shops. Only negative was that our bathroom was EXTREMELY small. We were in a corner room, which was nice but it was set back in the hall after the staircase and our... more

I accompanied my wife to a conference for 5 nights. The room was very comfortable and kept very clean. The breakfast was ordinary but satisfying. What really stood out in our visit was the hotel staff. They were very attentive and accomodating, all the while communicating with good humor and cheery attitudes, right down to the lady cleaning plant leaves... more

My husband and I just spent a night at this hotel using Hilton Honors points. I was pleasantly suprised based on what I had read about this hotel on Trip Advisor . This was one of the nicest Hampton Inn hotels we have stayed in. When we first arrived we were a bit confused about the parking/checking in location and... more

I rarely feel the urge to write any kind of review, but my partner and I had an outstanding experience at this hotel for our four-night spring vacation. First and foremost, the service from not just one staff member, but ALL of them, was warm, friendly, and sincere - something I rarely find in a hotel anywhere. When called upon,... more
