We had a nice stay here. The staff were very accommodating and the room was large. We had no problems with loudness or repairs during our time there. The hotel breakfast was better than average. Be aware that parking is $12 a night. More

I went with my husband on his business trip and we stayed at The Hampton Inn Historic District. The hotel is centrally located to great shopping, fantastic restaurants, and historic sights. The hotel rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The staff members were friendly and helpful. We were greeted at the door with a... More

I recently stayed at the hotel for 3 nights - 2 nights business and 1 leisure. The hotel is a good location with lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. It was clean, well maintained and the staff was friendly. My biggest complaint was it was so LOUD. My room was right off the lobby and all night long,... More

Great hotel in a wonderful location. Check in was a breeze and Penelope at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. Told her I was on weight watchers and could not eat cookies. She took me to get healthy snacks, thank you!!! First night was perfect and our room on 5th floor was wonderful. Trolley is right across the street which... More

We stayed two nights in December 2011 celebrating my birthday in Charleston with a weekend getaway and the service we received at this tiny Hampton Inn far exceed the service I've received at some four diamond properties. We checked in with Kasey, who was kind, professional, prompt and offered to store my ice cream birthday cake for us since there... More

Location was great; desk clerk and bellman were friendly and helpful. Tour bus reservations are made by bellman and bus driver comes into lobby and gets you. Bus loads across the street at the Visitors' Center. The room was very clean and comfortable but very noisy. I could hear people talking in the next room and I could hear their... More

Two queens beds were nice, but missed having a comfy chair. The heat didn't work, but they fixed it. They didn't tidy, take the garbage or linens on the bathroom floor, or leave new cups between nights. Brought towels and cups when I called. Weak shower. As a side note, two luggage stands would be nice in rooms with two... More

This has been my favorite hotel for the last four years. This was my most favorite hotel that I stayed in as my son went through his four years at the Citadel. It became my home away from home. The Ladies that prepare the breakfast do a fabulous job of giving you there "Southern Hospitality" The front desk staff is... More

We stayed here for three days while visiting Charleston. Upon arrival we were greeted by Curtis who assisted us with our bags and gave us great information about Charleston. The hotel is within walking to everything. You don't need a car, but if walking isn't your thing the trolley stops out front. Breakfast gets a little crowded and we sat... More

If you are looking for a moderately-priced, clean, comfortable room, in walking distance of historic Charleston, the Hampton Inn is a great choice. The rooms/beds were very clean and comfortable, the shower was powerful, and the lobby offered warm afternoon cookies and endless coffee all day/night. The staff was helpful and friendly. The reservationist gave me a discount on my... More
