This hotel has a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, the afternoon wine and chees and the evening sherry were great. We will certainly return again. more

We stayed 2 days and loved it. The breakfast was much better than expected. The afternoon wine and cheese and evening sherry was a nice touch. Right in the middle of the French Quarter within walking distance of just about everything. We plan on returning next year. more

There are several lodging options to choose from in the Historic District, but I chose the Anchorage Inn because it looked like it would be a quaint hotel for a reasonable price (the rate was at its lowest on the nights we stayed). My husband and I were incredibly happy with our choice. The location was great and parking was... more

The inn is in a great location in historic downtown Charleston. It is practically next door to the city's beautiful waterfront park. It is within easy walking distance to dozens of shops and restuarants and the many historic attractions in the city. The inn itself is absolutely charming. It is quiet and spacious. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well... more

I had a harder time than I expected finding a hotel in Charleston. There seems to be a variance against chains of any sort, at least in the downtown area, which excluded using my American Express points. My friend and I picked this hotel based on T.A. reviews, location and price. The pros of this hotel include the free wine... more

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I am happy that for the most part you seemed pleased with your stay. My staff usually gets very good reviews and I am very sorry that you found them to be rude. The Anchorage Inn is designed to resemble an English coaching inn and with our heritage of English...

The Anchorage Inn was a pleasant experience in every aspect. The location is outstanding, the wine/cheese hour, and nightly sherry made our stay even nicer. more

Thank you for sharing your kind words about your stay with us. Our location is fantastic and the wine & cheese time & evening sherry are always very popular with our guests. I am extremely glad you will recommend us to other travelers as "word of mouth" is still the best form of advertising. We look forward to your repeat...

We recently visited Charleston, SC for the first time. Stayed two nights at the Anchorage Inn on Vendue Range. Great location to attractions and restaurants. Hotel has a comfortable boutique feel, with nice amenities such as wine and cheese in the afternoon and brandy at night. Will certainly return! more

This was a delightful stay for my wife and I. The hotel is in a perfect location so we had very little need to drive anywhere. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We met many very interesting people at the free wine reception and again over free sherry later in the evening. Nice continental breakfast as well as free... more

The Anchorage was advertised as a very clean and top knotch Inn. However, the Inn was not clean; rooms were left messy after housekeeping came. Tables were moved to center of the room, pillows were tossed on the floor, floor not vacuumed, jacuzzi tub missing a plug so we were unable to use it. We requested a plug and one... more

The only disconcerting thing about the room was the lack of a window., but I guess that would be impossible because the buildings all abut each other. Right in the heart of the historic district. Walking distance to everywhere. more

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your stay with us. Some of the best times our guests have here is the wine & cheese and evening sherry time. Both are a great opportunity to meet other guests from all over and share your "Charleston" experiences as well as your life stories. The window issue is a problem for some...
