I just got back from Easter weekend at the Ansonborough Inn with friends. We thought the location was great and price reasonable since it's within walking distance to downtown and includes breakfast. The staff was great, especially Immad (sp?) at the front desk. He was always smiling and very cordial. The only drawback I could find is the NOISE! You... more

I stayed here with three colleagues while we were in Charleston for a conference. We all had separate rooms, each of which were exceptional. Exceptionally large rooms, some with separate sitting areas separated by stairs, or by a wall and a door. Television in both the bedroom and the sitting room. All rooms with king sized beds. Some are 4... more

I canceled a reservation via email and assumed it was taken care of. Somehow they supposedly never received my email and I cannot prove that I indeed sent the cancellation because I had recent email issues and have lost all emails from the last 6 months. I have now been charged for the full price plus tax and the hotel... more

The B&B is nice, and not too far, (10 -15 min. walking distance) from the center of the city, but it lacked some key ammenities, like a hot-tub/jaccuzi. We had a room with a nice King size bed, but the rest of the room seemed to fail to keep up as far as decoration / presentation. We paid $300 a... more

Cute, but not practical for sleeping! This hotel spent a lot of money in decor, but very little thought went into the basics of what makes a good nights sleep - soundproofing! Between the noise coming from both adjoining rooms, lots of street noise and trucks backing up (beep, beep, beep), noise from the atrium, noise from the deck patio,... more

This hotel is in a great, central location, and its unique character made a good impression, both in the lobby and in our suite, with its 14-15 foot ceilings, massive exposed beams, and traditional American design scheme. The staff was really nice, check-in was a breeze, and the restaurant the front desk recommended was superb (Mercato). There were two drawbacks,... more

Stayed in one of the recently remodeled King Studio Suites, and it was stunning. Vaulted rafter ceilings, exposed brick walls, beautiful oil paintings, leather sofa, comfy king bed with fluffy down comforter, and very clean marble bath. It is obvious they have paid attention to the little things here! Staff was also courteous, and I am grateful to the woman... more

We stayed 4 nights at the Ansonborough and couldn't have been happier. As others have stated it's a unique property and quite lovely inside. Our room was a corner unit on the 2nd floor and very roomy (only 2 of us). I wasn't sure what to expect as some reviews weren't that great, but from the moment we arrived to... more

I was a little worried when we arrived and realised the hotel was opposite a 24 hour supermarket and across the road from working docks but, once you're inside it makes no difference. The building is really quirky, the staff are low-key (which suits us Brits totally) and the room we stayed in (top floor, single story room) was perfect... more

Our room was not very clean to begin with.....we found children's clothing in the closet and there was dust all over. It was my mother and myself so I was sleeping in the pull-out couch. Well, half the bed was broken so I kept falling through to the floor. I knew it was going to be a long night and... more
