This hotel is very run down and overall in bad shape, so avoid it unless penny pinching and trying to stay in downtown Charleston. While I saw many reviews complaining, we found this to be a fine place to stay. The workers were friendly and the room was clean. The continental breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend for value and the location is convenient to MUSC which was our reason for travel. more

Stayed here for 4 nights in early November because it was a good deal. We won't stay here again. The staff was very, very nice, but not really on the ball. The room was ok, the pool was decent, but the BUGS kind of ruled the rest of the place. Flying bugs were every where in the lobby and in the restaurant and it was so gross. We NEVER ate the free breakfast, because those bugs had to be coming from somewhere. Oh, and they were the bitting kind! more
