It tries to present itself as a boutique hotel or B&B and it's not. If you think of it as a less-expensive hotel, it's a good one, but as a boutique hotel it's mediocre. Our room 202 was in front of the building and the street noise at night was loud; there were also trains going by a couple times... More

Booked this hotel for business for one night as many others were full (maybe for a concert in town); website makes it seem much more luxurious, quiet and off the main road.... it is located right on a main road and I almost missed it driving by -from the outside it seems smaller than one might expect. Nice concierge ,... More

I have stayed there in the past. The good location near 5-points helped me overlook the dingy dark hallways and the strange rather unpleasant smell that the cheap carpeting seems to have. The last stay however pushed me to stay elsewhere in the future. The bathroom as terrible. My towels were actually piled on the floor. Neatly, and clearly intended... More

The Inn was a nice boutique alternative to the major brand hotels. Good location to venture into Georgia or to the coast – visit to Charleston was under 2 hours. Staff was very helpful and the cheese board served before dinner time was a nice touch. I stayed in room 114 which is toward the back of the hotel and... More

I visited the Inn a Claussen's on a work trip and had modest expectations for the hotel. The location is great but everything in the room I stayed in seemed worn out and of very inconsistent quality. The hallways are dark and dingy, the carpet very industrial and cheap looking. It seems as thought the owners did a lot of... More

What a disappointment this Inn was after reading other reviews. First impression was off-putting because no one here seems to know that fluorescent lights come in a soft version not just the harsh light of a basement and that was the only lighting used in the room including in the seedy bathroom - try putting on make-up in that light.... Our family stayed here for two nights while in town to visit and tour USC. From the time that we checked in, we were very impressed. The hotel is actually an old bakery that has been revamped into a hotel. Each room is different. Complimentary wine was served each evening as well as a continental breakfast to your room in... More

Stayed in March and April on two legs of an extended southern trip. The decor is exceptional, the desk staff an exemplar of courtesy and helpfulness, the complimentary breakfast delivered to our room delightful. The two rooms we had (different each leg) were each finely appointed. We will return.

We stayed four nights. I enjoyed the breakfast brought to our room, my only (minor) complaint being that they do not carry non-dairy creamer for those who can't have dairy. The soundproofing isn't the best, but a fountain runs constantly in the lobby, along with rat-pack-era music that we found enjoyable. It was good to be at Five-Points where we... More

I stayed here for a night while visiting USC and cant tell how impressed I am. The room was little smaller than usual but still was comfortable. The location is very convenient: with in walking distance of USC, restaurants, Starbucks and stores. Plenty of parking on the back and friendly staffs. Complimentary wine at the evening and free breakfast at... More
