Spent the week at a local hospital, which is not local by the way! 45 minute drive to hospital! 30 min to nearest store of any kind! Will not go back could do so much more with $6000!! Great area, beach location and wonderful wildlife. Outdated amenities, facilities and technology. For the price, we expected more than nice, but nice is what we had. The whole amenity card program is a hassel. Suggested ways to improve. Watch the wild golfcarts when teens are at the wheel. Fitness center is actually a fitness room with 2 treamills and a... more

We went with a family group of 12 and all agreed this was one of our favorite vacations. The kids brought bicycles and cruised around the island all week. Deer in our yard every day eating out of our hands. You absolutely need to bring groceries with you and rent a golf cart. The beach wasn't crowded and staying on... more

Fripp island is a decent place to stay. We had a family reunion with over 40 people so it was neat to be able to rent big houses and have the option of pool or beach. While the island itself was nice, we have had a terrible time with the resort from which we rented the house and the house... more

Had always wanted to visit and play the two highly rated golf courses which lived up to their reputations. The island itself is serene and beautiful but as a "resort" it is sorely lacking. It does not in anyway compare to Amelia island Plantation or the various resort plantations on Hilton Head. Resort facilities are old and poorly kept. I... more

We visited Fripp Island Resort for a beach and pool vacation only to find that many of the resort services were not open for the season yet! There was no pool bar or attendant (no drinks, towels) and there weren't any beach equipment available for use or rental. Two of the three dinner restaurants were closed during our stay, so... more

We stayed on Fripp in July 2006 and really had a great time. This summer we decided to go back and I contacted the lady who ownes the home we stayed in previously. We booked directly through her. It was only after we got to Fripp last week that we found out rules had changed and everyone had to have... more

Beware when renting on Fripp - the home and villa amenities vary widely. One Captain John Fripp villa we looked at was smelly, had dog hairs on the furniture, dingy white towels, unclean dishes in the cupboards, and was just plain old. The owner thought he had gold to sell and was plain rude when he realized we weren't going... more

Fripp island is a great place for a family vacation. We were at the island from July 21-July 28. We were just with our family which includes 4 kids - 11, 9, 5, and 4. The weather was great. The humidity never seemed too bad. We rented a 4 bedroom house in the Sawgrass Neighborhood (Sunshine house - nice house)... more

I am blessed that I have a relative that owns a property in Fripp Island. It's a great place for my family to go on a mini-vacation (we live in Florida). It's ideal for a family vacation or romantic getaway. The resort his huge, peaceful and relaxing. It is filled with nature perserves, palm trees, and wildlife. You will see... more
