I would recommend this hotel for anyone who has realistic expectations of what a $55/night budget chain franchise hotel room in a small Southern town ought to be. The property is not brand-new, and there is a certain musty smell in the hallway, but I cannot honestly say that this place was not "clean" --- just what you would expect for its apparent age and price point. I got a smoking room because I wanted to be able to enjoy my pipe without venturing out into near-freezing weather late at night, and smoking-dedicated rooms, of course, are smoked in each and every time they're rented, so the smell is there, and it would be naive to expect otherwise. The breakfast bar is small but adequate, had sausage biscuits (microwaveable), orange juice, bagels, cereal, and so on, not a lot of variety but better than I expected.
