My husband and I visit Walterboro a couple of times a year to visit family, and it's getting more and more difficult to find a hotel which will accomodate two fussy people. Like being home. The rooms are clean & beautiful with beds that are comfy and inviting. Jean & Don welcome you and your pets like royalty. Our dogs feel right at home there, too. The mood is relaxed and the delicious breakfast is made, lovingly, by Jean. We look forward to our returns. more
We found the Old Academy as a halfway point on our drives to VA and NC. It's a perfect location for us in that regard, but we have loved staying there each time. It's comfortable, cozy and the hosts are wonderful. Walterboro is a quaint southern town, and this beautiful home is southern charm at its best, but not overdone... more
Old Academy is what a B&B should be: comfortable beds, wonderful linens, delicious full breakfast, and great hospitality. more
We enjoyed our stay so much. The house is beautiful & Don & Jean are outstanding hosts. This B&B is just off I-95 and only 45 minutes from Charleston. more
