My fiance and I traveled to Deadwood, South Dakota the week of Memorial Day. Our first night was spent in Rapid City as we couldn't make the whole drive in one day (it was 9 hours to Rapid City). Our stay was at the Black Hills Inn and Suites. Having only been to Deadwood as a child (and we basically... more

I can understand how other reviewers were turned off by this place. You walk in and the lobby is very dark and somewhat eerie. I made reservations last minute as we were supposed to camp that night but the weather didn't look promising. When I called, the gentleman on the phone was very nice. He advised they had many rooms... more

My husband and I stayed one night at this dump over Labor Day weekend. I seriously don't know how anyone could find something positive to write about the place, other than the owners perhaps. It's cheap, but there are multiple reasons for that. First of all, the hotel is entirely pre-fabricated construction. Yes, folks, it's just a big trailer! Each... more

We made a last minute discision to go to the Black Hills for the Labor Day weekend so our choices of places to stay was quite limited and ended up at the Black Hills Inn, Deadwood. The room was extremely small. Rather than a little table beside the bed, that was where the sink and mirror were located. The shower... more

Old, dirty, tiny room. The bathroom was also tiny with a metal shower stall from the '60s. No sink in the bathroom, it was conveniently located next to the bed! The room also had a funky odor and a scenic view of weeds which were high enough to cover the lower part of the window. Next time I will stay... more

Nestled into the hillside of historical Deadwood, South Dakota, tthe Black Hils Inn and Suites was a delightful find for our stay in the Black Hills area on our way to Yellowstone. It is perfectly situated on the quite outskirts of Deadwood yet close enough to partake in any events occurring in the downtown.area just moments awwy. An open-air trolley... more

Fortunately, we were only here for about 2 waking hours. If you plan on spending more time at your hotel, go elsewhere. It's old, dirty & small. That being said, it was cheap and worked fine for the few hours we were there. It does have a small indoor pool which is great for small kids. The breakfast is a... more

Our stay in Deadwood lasted six days and a total of ONE night at the Blackhills Inn. The rooms were dark and dim and smelled of something like moth balls. Later I discovered the reason for the moth balls when I noticed the mold in the bath room. The sheet were also stained. We spent most of our time out... more

We stayed overnight at the Black Hills Inn the week of August 10th. The suite worked well for our family of six (4 kids 17-22). The suite had two twin beds plus a bunk bed and was was on the creek side. The room was was clean and quiet. We had reservations, and the inn keeper let us change the... more

We just wanted to say thank you to the staff at the Black Hills Inn. You made our visit pleasent and comfortable. Everything from helping us get to the trolley to recommending great places to eat. Your location is a diamond in the rough. This location was just about half way in between everything we wanted to see. Although the... more
