Hotel was very disappointing. Staff unfriendly, rooms unkept. We arrived to a third floor suite, quite spacious, older furniture (unstable), bathroom so small you couldn't move around. Someone had punched a hole in a cabinet, which was not fixed. Electrical junctions and boxes exposed. Bed, comfortable to a certain extent. Parking horrible. I stayed here for one night on August 27,2009, that was enough. The hotel started in 1902 and my room looked like it. I think they were trying to preserve it the way it looked back then. Don't be fooled - historic means old, unkempt, shabby, and gross. This place is such a dump. I wish the rating includes no stars. The Franklin Hotel is more than 100 years old. It has lots of wrinkles. If you're staying there for the hotel experience, you're in the wrong place, maybe even the wrong town.
