This hotel is not for everyone but for us it was a total pleasure! We stayed in the Jumbo Suite. If you like a little adventure and are not attached to the smell of clorox in your sheets, this is the place for you. Our sheets smelled like Downey and the rooms were spacious with great views of the hillside... more

I have been going to Deadwood every year now since 2001, and will be going again in two weeks for the Kool Nights. Since meetting Mary and Dave 7 years ago at Deadwood Dicks, it's like going on a home visit, and I can't wait to get there again. Deadwood Dicks is an old historical building just two blocks off... more

Our 3 night stay in 407 (king room) was an excellent experience. It was unique to be in a registered historical site located within Deadwood and within walking distance to all attractions of historic Main Street. Except for the day we visited Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument we didn't move the car. The staff gave us recommendations for places... more

We booked our room after checking them out on their website. The rooms are huge. The building is orignal from the 'old west' days and we spent hours discussing who else may have stayed in our room from the past. Most of the rooms have either 1 king or 2 double beds but they are non-smoking. Since we had 4... more

We made reservations months is advance for the weekend of June 6-7, 2008, based on the pictures on Deadwood Dick's website. What a mistake! First hint should have been that we had to go into the store to find the proprietor who then walked us next door, unlocked another door, took us up an ancient elevator (not a qualntly restored... more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were supposed to arrive on Fri but due to a late season blizzard we were unable to make it until Sat. The owner said we could stay an extra night to make up the missed night, so we did. The building is very old and full of antiques so it has that old... more

While staying at Deadwood Dick's we browsed the many antiques, played the slots, enjoyed a perfect meal, visited with other visiters at the bar, strolled the many interesting old buildings etc. (There is lots to see) our room was clean and comfortable and we loved the oldtime decore. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. Thanks! Deadwood Dick's for... more

First I will tell you that I made a few mistakes in booking this property. We travel extensively and have stayed at all sorts of places from generic to unusual, rustic to luxurious. I thought this would be a fun kind of "wild west" place to stay after a week of exploring wildlife at a cabin in Custer State Park... more

My girlfriend and I booked our room in May to stay for Labor Day weekend. We checked websites and it seemed to be the place for us. And it was. Old fashioned, homey and comfy room. Mary was great, very proud of her establishment, and rightly so. If you have kid's and a ton of luggage, go to another place.... more
