The setting of these cabins tucked in the shadows of the Black Hills National Forest provided us with a comfortable and roomy romantic getaway for our honeymoon (and a chance to replace the alarm clock with the smell of fresh pine every morning). Located near a major highway, the best attractions the Black Hills could offer, such as Mt. Rushmore,... more

Location 1 mile from hill city and minutes from all the sights. BBQ supplied, cabins loaded with everything. I would recommend this as a stop. We booked 3 nights and added an additional night. Husband and wife owned, great value. The newest cabins are even more comfortable. more

For over 10 years, my children and I had stayed for a week each summer at the Pine Rest Cabins in Hill City , SD. The rustic atmosphere (along with modern conveniences) was ideal for my family and made for many wonderful memories. Jan and Steve were extremely helpful and over time; became part of our family. We looked forward... more

We had a fantastic time, at Pine rest cabins. Stayed a week. Accomodations were great, there is a history about these cabins. Ask the owners about it. We stayed in cabin #4, which is supposedly made in the 1940's. Bigger & older cabin there, as well as updated cabins and newly built cabins. Nice place to stay, when returning from... more

This place was a huge disappointment. I'm not sure where to begin - how about the cabins being 50 ft from the main highway - very noisy. Then there was the construction site view from the back of the cabin. Next, there were the teenagers working on their car next to the cabin with their music blaring. Next there was... more

We and our many return customers love old Cabin #5 - it is one of the original cabins on the Pine Rest Cabins property, established in 1911. This cabin is definitely one of a kind, and fortunately for us there are a lot of folks who appreciate that and wouldn't have us change a thing. Yes, we are near the...

We stayed a week at Pine Rest Cabins in one of the small cabins. The cabin was just right, and the location was perfect: close to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave and Jewel Cave, and not too far of a drive to Rapid City, Deadwood, and even the Badlands and Devils Tower. We went in the off-season, so the... more

We booked a cabin for four days on trip to Sturgis. We travelled by motorcycle and the cabin was easy to access. The driveways are dirt so be aware on your bike. We were able to pull right up to our front porch. It is an excellent location to see everything in the surrounding area. It is a short walk... more

For the third year running we have stayed at Pine Rest Cabins in HIll City SD during the Sturgis Rally. It is a wonderful family owned facility. Centrally located, it is great for making day trips throughout the "Hills" during the Rally, or anytime for that matter. With 23 years of consecutive Rally attendance we have learned a thing or... more

We decided to book a trip about a month in advance in South Dakota. Really, I should have done more homework about everything available. I got brochures and hastily looked through them and called a few locations. Everyone was booked; there were a few openings in other distant parts of the Black Hills, prices were over the top for what... more
