I disagree with some other reviews...My husband, toddler, and I were on roadtrip for a few weeks with many other family members from MD out to Central US & our final destination, MN. We accidentally stumbled upon The Governor's Inn when we were ready to rest & were completely pleased with the accomodations! It was in the middle of the... more

This place was disappointing as soon as we arrived. It's old and in fair condition at best. Then when my wife saw bugs (whatever they were) crawling on the phone next to the bed and their droppings on the table, we were ready to leave but it was too late to find another hotel. Best hotel value of our 7 day trip to SD. Nightly cookies in the lobby are great and continental breakfast is great. Comfortable rooms and awesome staff. We will stay there again! more

Since Pierre doesn't have a Hilton, Marriott, or other big-name property, the Governor Inn is OK. It's a good value for the $$$. It has free wireless internet, rooms are clean & spacious, breakfast in the AM. But it isn't going to "wow" you. I heard that the Best Western - Ramkota and Holiday Inn are also good choices. more

Stayed for one night in August, 2007. The Governor's is a good budget hotel. The pluses are that it has microwaves and fridges in the rooms. Free wireless internet which I was able to get in my room. Had a good signal during my stay. Free data center if you don't bring your laptop. Lots of parking and located on... more

I used TripAdvisor to look at budget motels in Pierre, SD and selected this one based on favorable reviews and found my trust to be rewarded. Great hotel! I will definitely stay there again if I'm in Pierre. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful with directions and suggestions. Very clean hotel. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Continental breakfast in the mornings has anything you could possibly want! and there's fresh baked cookies in the lobby every evening! more

What a lovely little motor inn. The staff could not be nicer - fresh coffee (or iced tea) and fresh baked cookies at the front desk, excellent restaurant recommendations.
