My daughter and I had traveled from Sioux Falls to attend her father's funeral. The first hotel we stopped at was expensive and not what we wanted, the second one was this hotel and unfortunately it was full but the front desk attendent was great! Melody got us a room just down the street and reserved a room for us at... more

My husband and I stayed at the AmericInn from Aug. 19th to Aug 22nd. The hotel was very nice and the room was wonderful. We had a king suite and the bed was very comfortable. Ideal place to stay if traveling to Mt. Rushmore or Keystone, very centrally located. Hotel is about 20 miles from Mt. Rushmore and many other... more

We stayed for 3 nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat), clean lobby, clean rooms, clean pool area. Our room was average size but we didn't spend too much time there. Beds were comfortable but not great (my husbands back hurt after sleeping in the beds, mine was fine). Noise was very minimal and breakfast had a lot to offer (waffles, cereal, hard... more

We stayed in suite #200. It was well appointed and we had booked early so got a good rate. My problem is that the suite is located right above the checkin desk; the continental Breakfast kitchen and the indoor pool. In the bedroom it was quiet except every so often you could feel a shaking - like somethink we happening... more

this is a very typical, unremarkable tourist class hotel. it MAY be fine when you stay. but for us, no. see my headline. awful! started early (6 am!) and VERY loud, hydraulic lifts, jackhammers, air hammers, AWFUL. impossible. they should have informed us when we booked or checked in. we left after 2nd nite, went to nearby hampton inn, vastly... more

I booked our room directly with the hotel. I booked a double queen room with refrigerator and microwave. On arrival they had lost our reservation, even with the confirmation number they were unable to find it. The clerk was not helpful at all, not even offering to see if they had any rooms available. We wound up staying there but... more

We were on vacation from our home in Tennessee on a fly/drive trip from Salt Lake City to Rapid City, SD. We stayed two nights at the Americinn. This was a good place to see the local sights (Badlands, Black Hills, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, SD Air/Space museum) and it was the least expensive hotel of our 9-night journey. The rooms... more

This is a great place to stay during Bike Week, or any time. We had the entire family with us and many other people switched hotels when they saw how great the place was. Front desk and Management went out of their way to make everyone happy and housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful even with the crowded conditions.... more

We selected this motel because of price and location in the Black Hills region. We had had mixed results with Americinn in two other cities and weren't sure how this would work out. We were VERY impressed!! We have never had a friendlier group of motel workers anywhere. From the front desk folks, to the maids and maintenance people, everyone... more
