Do not waste your money on this hotel, way to over priced for the room, the lay out of our room was awful the T.V. was off to the side that you would need a chiropractor to fix your neck after watching it. Front desk people were not nice or helpful at all, after we had complained to the front... more

It is listed as a historic hotel, the picture you see is the old part, the back of the hotel that is not pictured is old but not historical old. That is where our rooms where. Lobby is nice if you like old. Guest Services at check in was not friendly nor did she say, "thank you." Got off the... more

The entire overnight stay was an expensive nightmare in virtually all respects. How this hostelry stays in business is beyond my comprehension. more

The Read House is a beautiful early 20th-century hotel, with plenty of renovations and updates in every place that matters (with a few exceptions). My wife and I visited on a Saturday night and received a free, unsolicited upgrade to a king suite. The desk staff were friendly and competent, if maybe a little young and seemingly inexperienced. The common... more

Historical building located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Walking distance to a few restaurants, post office, and live entertainment on Friday nights. The hotel is well appointed, clean and friendly staff. Off the main lobby, guests have access to several computers with flat screens in a semi-retro open environment. The rooms are awesome - very spacious with a separate... more

We booked this hotel after much research on Chattanooga and the downtown area. We wanted a unique hotel, rather than the run of the mill hotel chains. A couple of the boutique hotels/bed and breakfasts were booked. I was a little hesitant based on some of the reviews, but must say, it turned out to be better than I expected.... more

Our room had a bad view but, other than that I thought it was fine. The beds were the regular Sheraton beds and I find them very comfortable. We didn't try the restaurant but the Starbucks worked fine for us. We did order room service for breakfast 1 morning and it was very good if a little pricey. My 6... more

I have stayed at the Read House before. Asked for rooms near our friends and they were in another building. Beautiful lobby and bar. Starbucks on property if you are into to that. Not me! Has valet parking that is pricey... street parking on weekends FREE! Wish we had know. The rooms are nice and comfy but the bed is... more
