Since we had a poor experience at Americourt several years ago, I called ahead to see what improvements had been made. The staff assured me some rooms had been renovated and were clean. I've stayed at this hotel before but wanted to comment on the renovations. I really loved the changes to the rooms and lobby area. The staff as before was very courteous, helpful and efficient. My feonce and I stayed for a week. We both really liked our stay. The front desk clerk was really nice and gave us wake up calls. The house keepers were nice too. I recently stayed at the Elizabethton, TN Americourt Hotel and had a very unpleasant experience with them. I've had better accommodations in Central America than at this Hotel! Very substandard hotel. Should be totally renovated or condemned. Peeling wallpaper, stained carpet, broken furniture & plumbing. Sign posted informing guests of the price of their "amenities", towels, pillows, etc., in case the guest take these items. Overpriced for quality of room. Deplorable. more

On the basis of a one-night stay in late July 2006: The property is marginal. It's pretty beaten up. There is no indication of commitment to maintenance or improvement by its owners. Americourt WAS a great place until they started discriminating against people living within their own county!!! I was married in this hotel, my husband proposed to me here, we also came back once a year to the same room UNTIL....they decided to descriminate against us "local" hard working people who would like to get away for a day or two... more
