Buyer beware - prepayment demanded on arrival (not mentioned on booking) by not very welcoming receptionist. Don`t bother with the Bally Buffet - items on menu sound delicious but do not live up to expectations. over priced and under quality - cold plates and extremely slow service. Booked weekend for boyfriend's birthday. Arrived on a saturday for 2 nights, i booked Bellevue room in new part of hotel. Told on arrival these rooms were unavailible due to "heating/ plumbing problems that are being looked at today". Had to settle for room in older part of Hotel. Their website/terms and conditions do not mention that full payment is required on arrival - before being shown to your room. I queried this and was told it is their policy in common with other hotels - but I have never been asked for payment in advance at a hotel in Ireland. more
