We stayed at the Man of Aran Cottage in the annex for one night. It's very close to Dun Aengus and we were able to walk to many places from the cottage. We had a bit of a rough time getting one of the tour buses to take us out to the Cottage from the ferry. By coincidence we ran... more

Of all the experiences we had during our two weeks in Ireland our trip to Inishmore and the Man of Aran Cottage remains the most memorable. We stayed in one of the two rooms located in the gate house just at the entrance to the cottage. It was very nice with comfortable beds and a nice power shower in the... more

We had a fabulous three-night stay in the cottage. Joe and Maura were lovely hosts and we had a great room (number 1) which has it's own bathroom and a view of the sea. The cottage is a bit out of the way, but by a gorgeous beach and extremely quiet - and it's no problem if you hire bikes... more

When we showed up, Maura greeted us rather shortly and showed us our room without mentioning breakfast or waiting for questions or anything -- we had to track her down later, at which point she served us tea but still didn't stay to chat or anything. It wasn't rude, but definitely sort of weird. The room was clean but nothing... more

Upon arrival there was some confusion, as I had inadvertantly booked for the following night. They were very welcoming and found a wonderful room for us in their house. We were tired and chilled from the bike ride over and were offered tea/coffee and cookies. They are in a great location if you want to explore the island. We were... more

We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Ireland. We stayed almost exclusively in Bed and Breakfasts. The Man of Aran cottage was the highlight. Joe and Maura were wonderful hosts, the food was worth every penny (Maura had 3 years training at a culinary school in London) and the view was unsurpassed. From our bedroom, we saw pink hollyhocks,... more

Their was a fixed price meal of 70$ for boiled potatoes and boiled steamed salmon and soup that was chicken stock. Total ripoff, we didn't even bother with the wine that was 20$ a glass. We thought it would be cute to stay in a thatched cottage, but it ended up being a total trap and there was nowhere else... more

We stayed in the annex of the Man of Aran Cottages. Our room had a beautiful view of the garden and the Atlantic Ocean. Joe and Maureen were so friendly. We were completely soaked after sightseeing in the rain when we arrived and they let us use the dryer to get our things dry. The B&B is 4 miles from... more

We chose Man of Aran for the quaintness factor: you know, the thatch-covered cottage and all. When we arrived, Joe treated us to tea and cookies. Maura asked if we'd be staying for dinner, stating that they had some fresh-caught salmon. We told her, "sure, that sounds lovely". She made no mention of the price and almost sounded like it... more
