I stayed here in janurary with wife, a nearly 4 year old and baby. Staff were very helpful, giving us a room with double bed, single bed and a cot. Working in hotels it was nice to come to a place where they are just basically nice, and not trying to gouge you with every little thing being an "extra"... more

After many year s i took a trip to connemara, not remembering how beautiful it really is. I was booked into the Carna BAy hotel and they very kindly rang me before i arrived to let me know that food orders were finished at 9, as i was still on the road there I made do with snacks from supermarket... more

My husband and I returned to the Carna Bay Hotel in May of 2009. Our second visit was as pleasant as the first. We were welcomed by Patricia and Colm, two of the very attentive staff at the hotel. After we unpacked a bit, we headed to the pub downstairs to enjoy a Guiness in front of a fire that... more

Myself and my Partner spend three nights in this lovely Hotel. The reason for choosing this Hotel is we both had a hectic year and wanted some relaxing time together. This really is a gorgeous hotel which depicts all that is good about irish hospitality. From the moment we walked in the front door we were felt welcome. Check-In was... more

To celebrate our birthdays we took advantage of a three night B&B break with two evening meals included in the price. On arrival our bags were carried by Colm to our room which was comfortable and ultra clean. The large en suite had both bath and shower. The TV had BBC1 plus various other Irish/international channels. At night we had... more

Went to Carna to look for family roots. Lovely area, exactly my idea of Ireland. The staff was very friendly. The accomodations were excellent in the wheelchair accessible room and bathroom. The bedroom was a little small, but very roomy bath & shower for wheelchair. Delicious food in the dinning room. more

We have been to Carna Bay several times over the last 10years and it just gets better. It feelsd like you are going home. This time we took some friends to prove how good it is. Mary , as usual made us all welcome and for her staff nothing was too much trouble. The rooms as ever were warm and cosy... more

Carna Bay is miles more fun than all those anonymous, boil-in-the-bag four star hotels which now dominate the market. Luxury at Carna is defined by a jovial pint of Guinness in the bar after a day exploring the pure white Connemara sands; perhaps in preparation for a huge plate of mussels from the excellent kitchen. Or maybe before trying out... more

We have just returned from the Carna Bay Hotel. We used the hotel as a base for hill walking and further acitivity in the area. From the moment we arrived - indeed from the moment we telephoned Mary the proprietress - we were made to feel totally relaxed welcome and at home. The atmosphere could not be more pleasant. We... more
