I recently stayed at Zetland House Hotel to attend a family wedding. Everything about Zetland was wonderful, from the personal welcome from Bronagh to the quiet efficiency of the owner Rhuairi. The location overlooking Cashel Bay makes the journey worth while. while the availability of the nearby St. James's church made this a wedding to remember. more

We spent a bank holiday weekend break there recently and were delighted with the views & scenery Connemara has to offer. The Zetland is quite difficult to get to, it's a long drive from Oughterard and the roads are quite narrow and bendy. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and on the day we arrived, it was raining... more

I stayed here in May with a group of friends (all couples) and were treated to a fantastic weekend. The drive from Galway is spectacular and the hotel is in a very beautiful (and quiet) spot overlooking the bay. We were made extremely welcome on arrival (by Bronagh and Ruaidhri) and all had beautiful rooms. The food, service and rooms are... more

We wanted a realxing & peaceful break for a couple of days and were certainly not disappointed by the Zetland (or the weather!) Stunning location with panoramic views over the Bay.The reception & lounges had lovely turf fires with the aroma of peat in the air! My wife and myself were warmly greeted by Hotel Manager Bronagh and shown to... more

We were there for a wedding, and they ran out of room, so they crammed us in this stuffy old corner room on the top floor with a view of the garbage cans. My parents however, had a very nice room and were not at all dissapointed. I'm not even sure that they rent our room out when the place... more

Although the weather was cold and wet, the welcome we received was warm and made us quickly forget the bank holiday traffic we endured to get down here. We had a magnificent view out over the bay from our room, which was furnished in antiques and old style fixtures. This place is perfect to get away from all of the... more

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Zetland House in Ireland. The grounds are lovely, well cared for and beautful. The view from the dinning room of the Bay is fantastic. Overall the staff is very pleasant and delivers good service. We have rated this Hotel a 3 as the hotel needs work. Carpets are worn, the... more

Have just returned from a weekend at the Zetland. It was our first time away from our 16 month old baby so we had high hopes. We weren't disappointed. We were very delighted with everything - from the very personable service to the michelin-standard food. We requested a deluxe room which faced Cashel bay. It's not super-luxurious but adequately comfortable.... more

My partner and I arrived from London tired, a little cranky and in pouring rain at this lovely country house. The manager Brouna came out with an umbrella saying well youre here now, the fire is lighting and there is plenty to eat and drink. Over the next few days, along with her staff she looked after our every need,... more

Zetland Country House is in a superb location, but can be difficult to find. Make the effort – it’s well worth it. For anyone using a GPS device, the co-ordinates are 9 degrees 45 minutes 55.7 seconds (9.79546 degrees) West and 53 degrees 24 minutes and 56.2 seconds North (53.41562 degrees) North. This hotel is definitely not suitable for anyone... more
