I stayed in Glencar with my girlfriend after a long and beautiful day along the Kerry Way. Owners are so kind and easygoing ! We spent a lovely evening next to the fireplace, drinking Guiness with some other guests, very relaxing ! There is a lovely path to join the Kerry Way without to retrieve it at Glencar passing through... More

I stayed at Glencar for two nights with my 9 & 10 year old boys. We had a very relaxing time. The boys loved the snooker table, the board games supplied and the piano. We had a meal on both evenings which was delicious. Eilish & Liam could not do enough for us and they made our stay very enjoyable.... More

My sister and I have spend some absolutely fantastic days in Glencar. Our twin room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Spending our days walking in the breathtaking countryside surrounding the hotel, we were very thankful for the carefully prepared and delicious dinners in the evening as well as the pints of Guinness and the warming fire place in... 5 dogs and 3 couples travelled to Glencar Hotel on Friday 7th September for a weekend hillwalking and exploring the local country side. Liam & Eilis gave us a fantastic welcome and Lizzie the resident Westie welcomed our 4 legged companions. The hotel oozes an old fashioned charm, the open fires in the bar, the views from the sunroom, everywhere... More

My first ever visit to Glencar but it will not be my last. Arrived on Friday 7th Sept 2012 with 4 others for a two night stay with a trip up Carrantuohill as the main reason for our 7+ hour drive down from the North. It was dark when we arrived so we were unable to see much of the... More

We stayed in a self catering cottage nearby, we wanted to go to the Glencar Hotel for some food one evening, but got lost. Glencar Hotels sent out a driver to collect us and we had a brilliant evening with venison stew, drinks beside their cosy fire and enjoyed looking at all the old fishing photos from yonder years on... Had dinner here recently and it was absolutely georgous. The steak and duck were perfect as were the vegetables. There was a lovely selection of homemade breads. Service was excellent and the waitress friendly. Beautiful location too. Didn't stay but would expect it to be very good as Liam and the staff are very friendly. It's a hidden gem, really... More

Just spent three fantastic days at Glencar House Hotel. The hotel was fantastic, food excellent, location amazing and above all the greatest hospitality you could ever imagine from Liam and Eilish. The whole experience was brilliant and we can't wait to go back again. Would recommend to all.
