Mary and Raymond welcomed us warmfully during 4 days. They cooked for us irish traditional dishes like Irish stew (delicious) They're very kind and they adviced us on what to see in the Kildare county. The B&B is charming and seems to be traped in time. It was perfect to forget city stress

I almost feel bad writing this because the owners are quite nice but the standard of accommodation in the self catering cottages is truly awful. The ONLY redeeming factor is the sheets were clean, we could smell the fabric softener! The cottage was very cold. The kitchen sink was full of water when we checked in even though there was... More

This is the chance to stay at a genuine 18th century family home! The house belongs to the Pelin family and they have lived here for generations. They run the farm, there are also holiday cottages attached and they serve bed and breakfast in their home. The furniture is in keeping with the house (thank goodness) so everything looks completely... More

Raymond and Mary Pelin greeted us and treated us like honored guests. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy. When we arrived, Mary escorted us into her charming parlor and we enjoyed delicious scones, jam and tea in front of a lovely fire along with delightful conversation with Mary. Our bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. Moate Lodge is rural... More

Clean room, comfortable bed and yummy welcome scones! It was a bit difficult to find in the dark, but the email directions we were given got us there. It is quite old fashioned and not really in a very touristy area (we struggled to find somewhere to eat in Athy on Sunday night) - rural is the word!

Stayed at Moate Lodge for one night on our way back across to Dublin. Mary and Raymond made us feel extremely welcome, from the fresh coffee and home-baked scones on arrival to the delicious breakfast before we departed.

While certainly a rustic stay, it was a beautiful house and really nice room. The owner is very friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. A nice change from the "city life." The breakfast was one of the best during the whole trip. & being welcomed by the sweet dog was just an added bonus, though just be aware that... More

From the dog's friendly greeting to the congenial host's breakfast this stop was a winner. The lovely farm setting of this gorgeous family home made the perfect stop on our last night before driving to the Dublin airport and home.
