Salterbridge is a restored gatelodge and is owned by the Irish Landmark Trust. It sleeps 2 adults (and a baby as we proved) and is a most unusual layout, being an octagonal shaped building. It has underfloor heating throughout, great antique furniture, a fabulous stove in the living room and some great old books to read. The property is 6km from Lismore and less than 1km from Cappoquin. It is a 15min drive to Dungarvan and there are a lot of walks / places to visit within a short drive of the gatelodge. There is no tv which is a plus and in keeping with the style of the place. It was a very relaxing weekend and great family time. There is a visitors book which is an interesting read, to see what the experience of others was. We had very contrasting weather - frost and then rain and wind but the lodge was comfy throughout and very snug. Our car battery went flat during our stay but the man across the road got us started in no time. Very friendly indeed. We couldn't fault the place. more
