Booked this morning and was told there were very few staying. Paid E35 for a private room as when I arrived there were quite a number of excited teens and twenties around, so thought I would be better off alone, One group had some members who made ongoing noise which meant sleep was impossible, At 1230am the fire alarm went... Staff was extremely rude, they came into our room at 2 in the morning without any sort of permission or warning and started giving out to us for talking quietly. The beds were broken and uncomfortable. None of the computers worked. The food was scarce and almost inedible. Almost ruined our whole school trip. Wouldn't advise any group to stay... More

My husband and I decided to bring our 2 young sons 9 and 5 for their first proper trek and because of many many childhood memories of daytrips to Glendalough, we chose there as our destination. I hadn't been there for maybe 20 years. A friend recommended we stay at this hostel, and because of the many nice things she... More

I didn't find any words for this hostel! Simply put, it's fantastic!!! This house and especially the staff!!! One example: The bus from Dublin to Glendalough drove to fast, so my daughter was be nauseous. The staff washing her clothes without further ado. But this was not the only reason I think this is a grandiose hostel. It is just... More

This Hostel is fantastic! I guess a lot changed since the review from 2006, because I couldn't imagine friendlier staff! We felt totally at home in the hostel and the staff (especially Trish) were all really helpful in arranging transport and the like. Very clean, very friendly... Facilities are great, kitchen is nice and the breakfast is good as well.... More

My wife and I did the Wicklow Way - and chose this accomodation because of its ideal for location - the Glendalough area is highly recommended. We've stayed in lots of hostels across UK & Europe so knew what to expect - but our two night stay was very disappointing. The staff like the building seemed tired and over worked.... More

The Glendalough International Youth hostel is in a fantastic location (very quiet and picturesque, and only a few minutes walk from the Glendalough visitor centre). A selection of wonderful walks can have their start and finish point at this hostel. I am comfortable using hostels and have used others. The downsides of this hostel were: The extremely rude/sarcastic and disrespectful... More

On a trip to Ireland, I found myself without lodging in Dublin due to a big rugby match to be held in the very middle of my trip. Grudgingly, I sought shelter in the suburbs and found a place to stay at the Glendalough International Youth Hostel. This 2 day/1 night trip to the mountains turned out to be one... More
