Received a voucher for bed and breakfast, and booked dinner for the night as well. Went on a wet Saturday evening in November. Directions on the website were fine and easy enough to locate. Shown to a very small room at the back of the building. Way too hot, even with radiators turned off. Had to sleep with the window... more

I stayed in this hotel with my husband and 2yr old for my mother-in-laws 70th birthday celebration. We were a group of 16 including 6 kids from 2 to 13 yrs and we had a full 4 course dinner on both nights. From the minute we arrived in Ballyknocken we all felt right at home and that we had arrived... more

I got a gift voucher for christmas and after looking it up on the web, i couldnt wait to go. I brought my parents and my boyfriend away with me and we had a ball. The staff were so friendly and helpful and catered to our every need. We had dinner on the night we arrived and liked it so... more

My husband was attending a cookery course and I accompanied him. When we arrived we were shown to an annexe over cookery school. The heating had not been turned on and the room seemed damp. We were the first to arrive and we presumed that people attending course were in this outbuilding. Later on we discovered this not to be... more

Ballyknocken is charming, quaint and reasonably priced. We were pleased with our room, pleased with the surroundings and pleased with the plentiful and tasty food. We enjoyed a long walk in the 'enchanted forest' behind the house. My only regret is that we were only there for one night. more

We got a gift voucher as a wedding present for an overnight stay, dinner and a cookery class and chose to go for a break in August . After a stressful journey due to torrential rain we arrived just as the sun came out, the house is so quaint and reminded me a bit of a fairytale house! We were... more

Went here with my Partner for 2 nights B&B & 1 Dinner, and a cooking class. The cooking class was really good, you cook in groups and everyone gets to try all the dishes. Really enjoyed that. The room itself was quiet nice, it was done up recently, but the TV was really bad. The bathroom is small but nicely... more

We stayed at this charming and newly decorated House for the most wonderful weekend. We found the establishment to be warm and friendly and most accomadating. The decor is fantastic and the food was amazing. The location is so peaceful and incredibly romantic. Myself and my partner really enjoyed our stay and will return with friends ...as this is something... more

For those wanting a bit of a change of pace, this is a fine stay. For starters, we arrived at about noon having just flown over from the States, and they were nice enough to clean our rooms and let us in early, even though that was an obvious inconvenience to them. It is in a very rural setting and... more
