Hmmm quite an experience for all the wrong reasons!

We didn't expect luxury when we checked in here as it was just quick one nighter (thank heavens) and was not priced for lthat. However it was advertised as an hotel, not a B&B, at pushing £70 per night (£20-30 more than some B&Bs round there) and had no views or parking so on that basis we expected something better than what we got for the dosh. Wrong! It was just like a B&B with no more faclities than a B&B. By no means the worst place I've ever stayed, but I would not go back as I hated the room and good old B&B hospitalty was somewhat lacking, and I know I can get the same experience (hopefully better) for less money.

We chose it in a hurry, influenced by it being well located for the small town centre, plus advertised as having charm and character, with an interesting story of it being used as place where smugglers hung out, one of whom now deceased haunts the place. That would send... more
