Lovely B&B - not a hotel, although the owner made us a tray of tea & biscuits and brought it up three flights of stairs on our arrival. Rooms really nicely decorated, quirky, individual & no TV (which I think is an advantage). Dinner was really good, beautifully prepared seasonal & tasty food. Really good meal at Agaric restaurant. The room was made to sound so much better on the website. Owners welcoming. The only room available was described as a 'Disabled', ground-floor room with private bathroom across the hall. £75 per night. The room would not accommodate a Zimmer frame, far less a wheelchair. What was not made clear was: a. There is no wardrobe b. There is no chest of drawers. Clothes spent the night in a pile on the floor.... more

When we arrived, we were greeted at the restaurant with some freshly baked complimentary mince pies and a cup of coffee after our long journey (we were down from Nottingham for a friends wedding).
