Just had 2 nights here. It is very small and 'Olde Worlde' and is dog friendly. Has a good range of beers and a super restaurant menu. Staff and locals are very friendly and make you most welcome. Good place to stay for North Dartmoor and is very close to Castle Drogo (NT) and the Teign Valley. more

We were disappointed with our stay for a number of reasons. Parking is difficult, we had to leave our car in a narrow country lane. Our room, the only en suite, had a few problems, the window didn't shut properly, no TV reception, only 1 cup, no spoon on the refreshments tray. Unable to reserve a table for the evening... more

I happened on the Sandy Park Inn with some friends as we were traveling to Cornwall and stopped for the night on a recommendation from a fully-booked pub / B & B owner in the next town. Almost a great place - but some problems. No hot water to put in the lovely big bath on arrival (and not so much for two showers next day either). Also old towels left in bathroom and could have been cleaner. No cups for tea and coffee and room needed hoovering. But perhaps we just hit a bad weekend. But... more

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was spacious with V comfy bed & private bathroom - long bath & great shower. Food was delicious both evenings plus excellent, friendly service. Breakfast freshly cooked to order at a time to suit us! Pub is ideally placed for exploring Dartmoor & nearby coast. Loads of walks & NT properties in the immediate vicinity. more
