Visited The Sportsmans on a couple of occasions. It's all right for an overnight if you are travelling but I wouldn't suggest a long stay. Location is good for Dartmoor visitors but the pub/small hotel, call it what you like, is on a busy road and close to the main street and shops and can be noisey. The food is... more
This is the most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed in. The manager that booked us in was rude and the room was ok, but certainly not worth £75 a night. The shower had that afterthought, flat pack feel, the mattress was almost down to the springs and was so noisy you were almost woken up every time you rolled... more
We had a fabulous stay, The staff are so friendly and welcoming The owner really went out of his way to help us, even driving us around when our car broke down.
