The location is a good base to travel from. Dawlish Warren is close by. The area in front of the hotel was spolit by railway work going on but we were out of season. It is a lovely walk to Dawlish along the coastal path. The hotel was lovely and spacious. Very personal. Warm and friendly. Buffet idea is a great idea and the buffet food was exceptional. Accomodating to dog owners who could eat the restaurant food in the lounge area with great views. Gardens well looked after.

Hotel's Favourite
We have just returned from our second August Bank Holiday visit to the Langstone and we can only say well done and thanks. The Langstone offers a unique experience, a step back in time with a modern touch. The rooms are comfortable, clean, tidy with the the usual toiletries and drinks tray with biscuits. The staff, which make the Langstone what is are the heartbeat and soul of the hotel. A couple of minor issues we had were sorted out quickly and efficiently without fuss or excuse. They just get on with it. From Reception, Bar and Restaurant, Cleaning, Maintenance, Catering and Waiting all do their jobs well and keep everything ticking over. I could mention names but there are too many and unfair on those we did not meet directly. The Victorian feel of the place from the architecture, decor, furniture and gardens, even creaky floorboards in places give a feel of past-times when the world was a nicer place. They also have a loyal clientele base of families that return year after year, some of which we now know, I can understand this even though ours have fled the nest many years ago. The safe feel of the grounds where you can keep an eye on the children from the terrace makes for a less stressful parenting experience although the funfair, various shops and bars in the Warren area are 10 minutes away as are nice sea wall walks down to Dawlish and short drives to Exmouth, Shaldon, Torquay etc. The two pools are a nice distraction and occupy you when you don't want to sit on the terrace or in the lounges or lay on a sunbed as are the various games tables and tennis court. The car park is extensive and the grounds spread far, the views are wonderful and the walks are not too difficult! Overall all I have to say that we ( a couple in our 60's ) who holidayed abroad for many years have, over the past couple of years found a little gem of an old English style hotel with exceptionally hard working dedicated staff who will give you a lovely experience. We enjoyed last year, we loved this year!! Thank you Langstone, we'll be seeing you again. John and Jenny Taylor

This was my wife and I third visit to Langstone Cliff Hotel, on a dance holiday (about thirty couples) organized by our dance teachers I found our room to be a bit on the small side, but it was clean and very comfortable, the ensuite bathroom was immaculate! Housekeeping at Langstone Cliff is very good. Breakfast was buffet style, but the young staff were happy to help. There was plenty to eat and drink and black pudding!!! Dinner was half served - starter and sweet - and half carvery, which I like. The food was beautifully cooked, the roast beef was particulary good. Coffee was served in the ball room there was plenty of it. The ball room has a lovely dance floor - plenty of space to stretch our legs! This is a very comfortable hotel set in its own grounds, the mostly young staff were friendly and helpful, all in this was a very enjoyable holiday.

Really lovely place, spotlessly clean, adequately staffed by helpful and experienced people. Food was excellent, piping hot, plentiful, and lots of choice. Room was nicely presented, bed comfortable, plenty of hot water, air con/heating easy to control etc. Good parking, well-tended gardens, even this early in the year. I can't fault this place, and will certainly go back there.

We attended an 80th birthday party in the Orchid Room. Excellent venue, the room was warm with comfortable seating ….food was brilliant, drinks from the nearby bar. I took the birthday cake and that was displayed on a stand by the very helpful staff. The young lady on the tea and coffee and food table did an excellent job.

We stayed here for 3 nights in February and were knocked out by the hotel, staff and food. The situation between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren make it easy to walk, take the bus or train into Dawlish and Teignmouth. Dawlish Warren is a short walk away with shops and eateries Our room and ensuite were spotless and the bed was very comfortable with lovely bedlinen. We had dinner bed and breakfast, the food was superb and waiting staff excellent. All the staff were friendly and a shout out to Charlotte on reception who was super helpful Overall a very well run family owned hotel, we will definitely visit again

Brilliant hotel from the quality of accommodation and attentive friendly staff to excellent choice at bar. Restaurant is well organised with good, varied choice menu producing wonderful meals. The breakfast choice was amazing. For the more energetic among us, there's two swimming pools, a tennis court, gym and very spacious grounds for walking or kids to play in.
