Unfortunately we did not have a positive experience and would not return. Our 'cottage' was nothing more than a youth hostel and the photographs were obviously taken a long time ago when it was freshly painted. I have just spent the weekend at Simonsbath in Shepherds Crook cottage. This hotel is beautifully situated with walks from the door and only nine miles to the amazing Tarr Steps. Stayed here last year. Room was very large with a wonderfull view of the valley. Everything about the place oozed character just the dining experience was very poor.
