I stayed at the Brook House B&B in Hemyock a few weeks ago with my partner, and I will definitely go again. The staff are friendly, the bedrooms are comfy and clean. I really hate having greasy breakfasts and they seem to be really on top of them - prefectly cooked.
There is a cafe under the accomodation (also run by the owners) but it quite quiet and closes not too late, and the food was very good. Mostly fried things but a lot of healthy things, and good fr vegetarians - I had a bean casserole which was delicious. The pizzas looked amazing but we didn't have a chance to sample them. Or you can eat at the pub next door, the Catherine Wheel, which was busy but not intimidating - pool table in the front bar, more relaxed atmosphere in the back.
The village itself has a castle at the top of the hill, and is right at the foot of the blackdown hills so loads of walks and pursuits are available - though a car helps, public transport a little limiting we noticed. Taunton, a... more
