We visited for a birthday lunch. The best feature is the fabulous riverside location. Unfortunately if you are in a group you get put in a dingy back room near the toilets. Food was all good wholesome cooking but frankly nothing we couldn't have produced at home. Service was pretty slow - plates didn't get cleared at end of meal... more

Stayed for a couple of nights in March 2008. Very lovely spot and quirky interesting rooms. Good for dogs. Seperate entrance so no need to take wet dog through the pub not that they would have minded; very laid back vibe. Stayed in Floyd's Cabin at £85 per night, but the standard of room and service was only worth £20 a night. we stayed here as a last minute booking & unfortunately didnt' get the best room in the pub. food was very nice well presented & good sized portions, best of all our dog was allowed everywhere in the bars etc, the river is super & we would definately return if with our dog, very good local cider & beer sold.... more
