We stayed just the one night, but had dinner the night before and the food was very nice and the staff very attentive and friendly. We were given room 5 on the ground floor and whilst nicely decorated, it had the kitchen off and adjoining wall behind the bed. The bathroom was nicely appointed with a walk in shower, but... more

Stayed for 2 nights and wish it could have been longer. Small hotel off the beaten track and we were not expecting such a high standard of food and service. Staff were so helpful and really went out of their way for us. Only problem we had was that there was no vodaphone network coverage in the entire village (obviously... more

we spent the weekend here to celebrate my husband's birthday and despite the weather being awful on the Saturday had a wonderful time. The staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly or helpful. The atmosphere is totally relaxed (but the efficiency is high). Our room (room 4) was spacious, very comfortable and light with dual aspect over... more

Stayed for one night in Superior room (No 4). Lovely room, well equipped and furnished with flair - very comfortable bed. Property itself is lovely - nice bar area and 2 eating possibilities - "fine dining" restaurant and less formal brasserie. Only real let-down is slightly erratic service - manager on duty for most of the time whilst pleasant enough... more

Satyed one night in Feb 2009. Booking was a poor start - when I rang the hotel to check the rates shown on their website they didn't even know what rates were on, and said they had problems with people booking on the website. Why hadn't they sorted it then?? Anyway, hotel is old and full of charm in the... more

We had a fantastic start to our 1 night stay at the Bridge House as we got upgraded to a lovely four-poster room (Room1) when we checked in. The kitchen delivered superb food (for dinner and breakfast) and the service was very friendly and attentative. Overall an excellent dining experience in a very ancient and atmospheric building. more

We stayed at the Bridge House for a single night during the week. The room (number 8) was really lovely, very large but cosy with a huge and comfortable bed. View was over the car park, but we booked late and this didn't bother us at all. It's a nice building, but NB the ceiling in this room was quite... more

We were looking for somewhere special in Dorset to spend two days to get away from the builders who are currently renovating our house! We found the Bridge House on Trip Advisor and booked very last minute. It is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The right balance between good service and relaxed atmosphere. All the details are right: delicious... more

6 of us stayed for 2 nights on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. A very comfortable and well staffed hotel. Staff friendy and nothing too much trouble. Food good. Lots of people coming and going, we quite like that! Previous reviewers comments about the erratic toast were spot on -it's still happening! A big thankyou to all for looking... more
