Spent a couple of days here with my wife, daughter, son in law and grandchildren during the easter break. Arrived late afternoon on the Friday and knocked at the Farmhouse no answer and no sign of the owners, my daughter searched round and found the right cottage and we moved in, at no time during the four days that my... Visited Rudge Farm in September 2012, staying in Keepers. Loved the farm and the location. Our 2 year old loved the sandpit, trampoline and games room. Enjoyed it so much that we are talking about returning next year with our son and not yet born baby! Great location as well, Hive Beach was lovely and Chesil Beach is a short... More

We stayed in Pigsty cottage as a couple for 10 days. The setting is magical - so quiet - and I have not seen so many stars at night for years. If you have a family there is loads to do. Fishing or rowing on the pond, feeding the ducks, trampoline, football, table tennis, tennis DVD loan and a sandpit... More

We stayed here for a long weekend in may in orchard cottage. The location is just incredible and our one year old loved the ducks that gather by the terrace steps. The sandpit, swings and play house all add to the amazing range of entertainment for young toddlers. Older children also have plenty to do with skittles and table tennis.... More

We have just had our fourth holiday with friends and family staying at Rudge and it really is a beautiful place. The cottages are nicely kitted out and very comfortable. We have stayed in Gardeners Cottage each time which has two bedrooms, a bathroom and an open kitchen/living room/diner. I think between our group, most cottages have been stayed in... More

We chose Rudge Farm for a mini, close family, re-union, occupying three cottages with ages ranging from 15 months to 77 years, for a long weekend break. We were all of the same opinion (even the 15 month old it would seem, who had a great time with the ducks and hens) that this site proved a good choice. The... More

A long overdue family reunion threatened to burst my humble cottage at the seams. But a quick check of the website and a call to the owners got us booked into one of the larger units on this fantastic family-run facility. Rudge Farm Cottages are a collection of thoughtfully rebuilt buildings able to sleep from 2 to 6. Some have... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Rudge Farm Cottages is peacefully situated on a gentle south-facing slope, overlooking the beautiful Bride Valley and close to Dorset’s World Heritage coastline. The farm is a haven for peace and tranquility within 20 acres of beautiful countryside of mature woodland, meadows and lakes. The old farm buildings have been thoughtfully converted into ten attractive holiday cottages, maintaining many of the original features, ranged around a flower-decked yard and with spectacular views across the Bride Valley towards the Coast. The cottages are all 4 star tourist board rated and are comfortably furnished with a warm and inviting atmosphere providing the perfect place for families or couples. The cottages vary in size from one to three bedrooms with most accommodation on the ground floor. Around the Farm we have plenty of leisure facilities, a picturesque woodland walk and sporting activities, including an all weather tennis court, for the more active. Alternatively you can enjoy relaxing down by the meadows or perhaps take a gentle row around the lake. The games room and games barn provide plenty of indoor activities if the weather is not so good. These include pool, table tennis, skittle alley and table football. The farm is also ideal for younger children with safe play areas including a sandpit, swings and slides, trampoline and activity pirate ship. Close to Rudge Farm there are plenty of fantastic beaches, including Hive Beach which has the highly recommended (by the Sunday Times) Hive Beach Cafe. There are also great beaches a bit further afield at Lyme Regis and Weymouth. The Dorset Coastline is a World Heritage site and provides some of the most dramatic coastline in the UK with Chesil Beach, Durdle Door and Golden Cap. ... more   less
