The good stuff: service, freindlinss of staff, the breakfasts The poor stuff: public areas are decidely grotty, corridors and stairs are particulrly in need of painting and re-carpeting. The flower suite bathroom is pretty poor (dark ,dingy and piecemeal in its decoration), and much of the bedroom furnishing, although trendy, are battered and worn. Did I like staying there? Yes,... more

We stayed at the bull for my husbands birthday. It's a well run thriving hotel with lots going on. Our room (butterflies and fern) was lovely, with a beautiful bathroom and the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. With rooms at around £ 120 per night it's really good value for money. The food was excellent. I often feel cheated... more

We had a fantastic stay at the Bull, in response to some of the critics we've stayed in 5 star hotels in London and the service is as good as, if not better, than these. The food is excellent, cocktails in the Venner Bar delicious (and the extremely generous and very tasty complementary tapas gratefully received). A lovely, quirky, friendly... more

I am not normally minded to write reviews but do rely a lot on tripadvisor, and as nobody has mentioned this until now I thought I would make the following comments on The Bull. We stayed with a young child in the Flowers suite, which was ideal, until the noise from the adjacent flat started on our second evening there.... more

Stayed here for a weekend in the Zoffany room. Had a very enjoyable stay - the room was very clean, and although it was was on the street side in the middle of the town it was very quiet due to double glazing. The room was well furnished but had no bath - just a shower - recommend you check... more

A lovely relaxing boutique hotel in a bustling market town. Positives: - Amazing food. Really delicious and good value. - Nice walk to the beach. - Big TV and stylish decor. Negatives: - The room was a bit noisy with music from the bar. - A little bit shabby around the edges (peeling paint and rickety furniture). more

We stayed here for 2 nights in November for a birhday weekend. We had a top floor deluxe room at the back (207) which was quiet and beautifully presented. The receptionist was really friendly and welcoming and throughout our stay the staff we great.. Dinner in the main restaraunt was excellent, my only criticism would be the chairs whch look... more

I have just come back from a couple of nights away at the Bull. I have been wanting to visit this hotel for a while as it has had lots of good press and a great website. It was lovely. The owners have a great eye, the food is fabulous and the staff could not have been more helpful. However,... more

What can I say The hotel has some really cool things about it. The food is very good, the stables bar (which serves pasties, pizza and cider) is fab, the veneer bar is so cool, but the location.....well both my partner and I lost 2hrs sleep on each night friday and sat. For some reason the street the hotel its... more

I decided to take my partner out of the city and down to the coast for a lovely weekend away, so I looked at hotels on the net and found the bull stood out the most. It certainly lived up to our expectations. We arrived with a very warm welcome and good service to our room, we stayed in a... more
