The Beach Hotel Experience did not start well for us. On arrival the first thing I noticed were the filthy windows and planter at the front of the building filled with broken flower pots. On venturing inside the place smelt terrible with the restaurant filled with scuffed and scruffy furniture. We waited around for a while and the lady cleaning... more

We set off for the Lulworth Beach Hotel with serious reservations having read other TripAdvisor reviews after booking (which involved some chasing on our part as the hotel staff are not good at responding to emails, and are a bit slow on the admin side). Happily, once we got there we had a good experience. The location is fantastic, only... more

I booked this hotel before reading the reviews and then doubted my selection. I need not have worried. We had booked room 20 and was not disappointed. The room was well presented, the bed extremely comfy and the view was fab. We had dinner at the hotel tew nights and eat out the other but I much preferred the hotel... more

Unpretentious; unusual; great room; excellent service; some very good food (especially the puddings). After three nights we knew we would come back. Not expensive for the location and quality of service. No fuss, friendly, very well conceived small hotel. I was reminded of the best French seaside hotels I've stayed in. We gave it five stars all round (except for... more

Beautiful location, pity about the value for money and the attitude of the owner. My husband and I stayed for two nights in May. We were disappointed by the room we were shown to - apparently one of their best? The bathroom was cold and had damp towels and sounded like the pipes were coming out of the wall whenever... more

Having read some of the reports here I was fearing for the worse. I couldn't have been more surprised to find none of the problems mentioned and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff and owners were very welcoming and the rooms and food were of a very good standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. more

We booked our trip for June 09 & on 23rd March received confirmation that deposit had been paid & 2 rooms booked. On 13th April I received a call from the owner saying that they do not take booking on single occupancy for their best rooms as they can make more money from couples - when I said that they... more

Avoid this hotel but do visit Lulworth. Room 22 small, paper thin walls but OK. However, their ''restaurant' is a disaster. We were tempted by the menu featuring local fish. No fewer than four items - all the fish- were 'off'. The single waiter tried to service the tables but struggled. And the room was dreadfully cold despite a miserable... more

Having visited Lulworth cove on several occasions we decided it was a good location for a break with some friends. There is not a great choice of places to stay in the small village and the Beech House had a modern boutique hotel look about it. I am never a fan of standard rooms in hotels as we all know... more

Having seen the poor reviews here, I still went ahead and made my booking (mid week to take advantage of the discount). I had hoped that after my visit to Lulworth Beach Hotel that I could write a glowing report about our stay. Unfortunately not. We arrived in wonderful weather, checked into our room (20) and dashed off to have... more
