We have visited The Smugglers a lot over the last few years, however I think that the place is starting slide downhill. The menu is getting boring, the staff seem to be getting scatty and forgetfully, if you want to change your order, ie add fries then they sub it for something, so when I asked for a side order... We were also PGL parents but stayed while the kids were at camp for 2 nights. Ate in the pub the first night.... Have to agree that the food wasn't anything special but then I think that is fairly standard with big chain pubs (Hall & Woodhouse). Reasonable value and portion size though. Pub was very busy as it was... More

We stayed for one night after picking up our daughter from the nearby PGL camp. As a family of 4 we had to book 2 rooms to accommodate all of us and this worked out a little more expensive than we would have liked. However the rooms were fairly well decorated, clean and well equipped and we all had a... More

We love this place. We stay in the campsite up the road during the summer, and frequent here during our stay in Osmington. It is perfect for kids , they play on the banks outside the pub, whilst parents can keep an eye. The kids make loads of friends, the adults consequently relax. The staff are efficient and friendly, despite... More

We had a meal at this pub last weekend. It is in a super position close to the sea. The interior is old style wood with a lot of seating - clearly they are aiming at the food market more than local drinkers. The menu is standard Hall & Woodhouse - a reasonable selection - my starter of fish &... More

A nice old fashioned pub, set on the coast overlooking Weymouth bay. Nice inside and the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Prices were very good as well, for both the food and the drink. Watch your head as you walk around though, as it is all quite low! However, some of our dishes were a little average at... More

My husband and I had been here before a number of years ago and on the spur of the moment, decided to take our two dogs for a walk and stop at the pub....what a brilliant idea! We sat out in the garden in a little hut that even in Feb was cosy. The wine was lovely, the burgers delicious... More

Great food, great atmosphere and service. Dogs supremely welcome. Even kid friendly. Beautiful views from the car park. The combination of little old cottages creates a charm to the location both inside and out. Low ceilings and lots of wooden beams to be negotiated.
