We have just stayed for 4 nights and we truly loved it. Our stay was warm, comfortable and relaxing. The food was marvellous, we stayed full board and found the choice plentiful. The location is idylic with wonderful views and plenty of walks. Service was impeccable. You won't find the staff here over-the-top or in-your-face - just helpful if you... more

We came to this hotel for one night and were prepared for a real treat as it was very expensive, taking into account we travel frequently to excellent hotels. The setting is great the only shame is that you cannot really allow children of 11 to go on their own to the beach as the road dividing it is very... more

This hotel is one of the best hotels that i have ever stayed at. the traditional english family hotel, caters for all members of the family whether 1 or 101. it was a relaxed atmosphere, peace and quiet if you want it, and fun and games for the children if not. it inspires an old world feel, were people still... more

Including the cost of a moderate drinks, this place cost me £758 for just two nights full board for two sharing. I could have stayed in the Peninsula Hong Kong (one of the 5 best ranked hotels in the world) for LESS. I've travelled the world on business so for £350 a night + extras I expected a lot. I... more

This is great place if very expensive. It's a hotel that has "grown" bit by bit. It's also family owned which makes it very special. The decor is Art Deco with a twist of 18th Century. You wouldn't be surprised to find Celia Johnson or Penelople Keith playin Canasta on the veranda. The place felt like a Cludeo set. I'm... more

Knoll House - only stayed one night, on an unplanned over night trip to Studland during the most beautiful weather. Location - could not really be better - a 5 minute walk to the national trust beach which is just stunning and very well maintained. Staff - so so many and very polite, counted 4 reception staff, and over 10... more

I love Knoll House. I'm not sure why. I think it's partly the sense of childhood memories it evokes, partly how easy the staff make everything for you and especially the fact that the kids are just over the moon every time we stay here. It's not for high-living luxury, or state of the art technology or trend-setting fashionability -... more

We have just spent a lovely long weekend with the grandchildren (aged 3 and 5) here. It is like a trip back to the 1950's, in the best sense. Very child-orientated, but quite a few couples sans children enjoying it. Large outdoor pool, small indoor one, both 29 degrees, adventure playground, lovely grounds and adventure walks, large field for rounders... more

Just back from a 3 night stay at The Knoll House Hotel with my husband and dog. The location is fantastic - a short walk from the beach; views across to Poole, Bournemouth, IOW and Old Harry's Rocks from our bedroom; bus stops right outside the hotel to Swanage or Bournemouth. Also, this is terrific walking country - we didn't... more

After reading some of the previous reviews for this hotel, I was concerned when my partner told me he had booked a night away for us at this hotel. However, I can honestly say that we enjoyed our time so much in the beautiful surroundings and relaxed but efficient atmosphere, that the next morning we asked if it would be... more
