We arrived here late in the evening looking for accomodation after a poor experience at The Crown in Marnhull. It's located in the village of Sturminster Newton which is a lovely village. Hotel was lovely and clean, bedroom was larger than expected also nice and warm as well as very well presented with tea/coffee facilities, bed was comfy. Not much noise from the bar below, hot water took a while to come through in the shower but was fine again nice sized bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly, would definately... more

The Landlord and Landlady couldn't even make it out of bed to provde a breakfast for us. When we went downstairs the place was dark and locked up. They later gave us the excuse that there alarm hadn't gone off - HOW PROFESSIONAL CAN YOU GET! Other than that the pub noise is terrible, the bed uncomfortable and the bathroom... more

apart from the bar areas guests have access from outside to their rooms 24 hours a day and nowhere is unlit at any time all of our rooms have been soundproofed from the bars and although not silent you are staying in a pub ! the Swan is fully centrally heated and each room has its own thermostat also each...
