The Meldrums Hotel has been taken over by new staff, since taking over they have transformed the meals. High Tea is back to being a highlight of a weekend with excellent staples such as Staeak Pie and Fish & Chips, but also a stunning Portuguese dish 'Piri Piri Chicken' which can be served to whatever spice level suits you. Hadn't been to Meldrums for some years and after today's excellent experience for Sunday lunch (both in the quality of food and the attentive, friendly staff) we definitely won't be leaving it too long until we return - the Roast Sirloin of Beef was sooooo tasty! Highly recommended.

A group of 10 of us stayed at the Meldrums Hotel and had an excellent stay. The evening meal was very good but the breakfasts were outstandingly good. The bedrooms are more basic but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Highly recommended.

Didn't stay at the hotel so can't comment on the rooms. We went to Meldrums for lunch yesterday and have to say it was a most excellent meal. Our family are spread between Ceres and Falkland, and have to say this is the best meal we have had so far in this area.

This was not a cheap hotel and although the rooms were immaculately clean, they were very dated. The colour scheme was odd and the rooms seemed cramped. There was a good sized bathroom and coffee making facilities. The service was very good and welcoming and the breakfast was superb. The snag was with the beds which were so worn that... More

Checked in and were helped wit our bags to our bedroom, which although on the small side was well equipped. plenty of fresh towels and toileteries. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and ingredients of good quality (although the kippers were were not to be recommended). Evening meals were good and well priced. All in all, ideal for a stopover or weekend... More
