Bear Grylls would find it hard to survive in this hell hole. Couldn’t believe it when I was given a room with a bunk bed in it and lets be clear here, it was no ordinary bunk bed. Think of the bunk bed that Will Ferrell and John C Reilly make in the movie Step Brothers and you'll be close... more

Awful and grim. I'd recommend the Isle of Arran itself to anyone reading this review but this hotel is best avoided. An absolute hole and the management of the place could do with a crash course in customer service - obstinate at best, more commonly rude and obtuse. more

On arrival at the Mclaren hotel you will be greeted by the uninterested, rude staff. We opted for the luxury suite which comes complete with stained bed sheets, filthy en-suite, complimentary damp patches covered up with tape and a very reasonable amount of mould and mildew on the windows.
