We spent 6 nights ay the Kildonan - accompanied by our daughter, son in law and 1.5 year old grandson who were there for the first weekend. The manager and staff could not have been more helpful. The food was beautiful both in the bar and in the dining room. The scenery, location, service and accomodation left nothing to complain... more

En route from a couple of nights in the Lake District to a wedding in Aberdeenshire, we detoured to spend a couple of nights at on the Isle of Arran. We booked a twin room (room 17 on the ground floor) and a double room (room 5) on the first floor. Great views of the sea, comfy beds, warm rooms,... more

My wife and I have just had a very relaxing four day stay at the Kildonan Hotel following a fairly hectic family wedding in Perthshire over the previous weekend and I could not have picked a better place for it. We arrived on the Monday afternoon in steady rain and were greeted by Anne (one of the owners along with... more

We booked two family rooms in this hotel in March for our stay in August. The first thing that suprised us was that they took 50% of the fee at the time of booking which was a little unusual but also because they failed to tell us when booking so we had to check this with them when the money... more

As a group of two families (two adults, two small kids & two adults and two small kids and a baby) we stayed at the Kildonan on our way to Islay. We pulled into a rather grubby, un-Tarmaced car park - rain meant big puddles and lots of grimy mess all over our bags and kids! We were shown to... more

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August. Had a room with a suite/separate sitting area which had a balcony giving a sea view. The weather as it was warm and sunny and the hotel has lovely gardens overlooking the firth of Clyde and Pladda. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the bar... more

Went to the isle of arran for an overnight stay and left the same day. I had always wanted to visit arran to experience traditional scottish hospitality and enjoy the stunning views. What a let down!!!!! We chose to stay at the kildonan because of reviews on tripadvisor ( Are we talking about the same place). When we arrived we... more

In response to this review. This was a last minute same day booking on a very busy week, hence not being able to offer a different room. Yes the room offered faces the parking lot but it also has a view to the sea. Our rooms are tastefully decorated with queen beds, deluxe linens, wifi, 32" flat screen TV's etc.etc....

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights early in June 2008. We were very lucky with the weather, despite it being a bit windy and cloudy, overall for Scotland we thought it was good. The first impression of this hotel is not brilliant as you arrive at the side of the building where the bar is, but don't be... more

Stayed at the Kildonan with my partner and 2 dogs on 6th and 7th June 08. Very pleasantly surprised on arrival - modern, contemporary feel to the reception/lounge area. Taken round to room and shown room and facilities after check in - not given keys and left to find it ourselves as per normal 'hotel' routine. Our double room was... more

What a lovely situation this hotel is in! The new rooms which face the sea and have a balcony are very good for views of the beach and hills, and they have a separate sitting area which is also a sofa bed. It is very quiet in the rooms as they overlook fields. Furniture was bright with a flat screen... more
