My friend and I stayed at the Apple Lodge in August 2012. Before confirming our booking, we checked with the owners to confirm that the Lodge is definitely smoke-free. As my friend has asthma, she was particularly concerned at the Tripadvisor reviews which referred to there being a smoky smell in the Lodge. We are so glad that we didn't... More

This is a classic bed&breakfast guest house with 3 well appointed bed rooms in an old manse house on the outskirts of the village. There is a comfortable lounge and a dining room in two parts. The set dinner served on our first night was excellent and well balanced. They do not have a drinks licence so do bring your... More

Very welcoming John, keen to help with anything. Excellent room with everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, but dinner not on offer, short walk to nearest good restaurant.

Back to the beautiful isle for another super holiday. Not only did we have amazing weather but we also discovered one of our favourite guest houses in Scotland. The food was to die for and we were sad to leave our lovely room 'Pippin'. We were made to feel very welcome and we're now counting down the days till we... More

Apple Lodge was our first stopover on a five day walk around Arran's Coastal Path. The situation is lovely, the breakfast was probably the best we had, but oh, when we stepped in the front door, the smell of smoke was appalling. As non smokers, unused to smoky atmospheres, this was a great problem. The smell of smoke permeated the... More

We'd spent a week travelling Scotland staying in assorted B&Bs and hostels and were worried that we might not be able to find accommodation in Arran during peak season. After a little ringing around we found Apple Lodge who had only their "suite" available. We didn't really require that much space so we weren't sure at first but with nothing... More

This little place is situated a short walk from Arran's only distillery and the quaint little harbour. Deer mooch around the area and you are likely to catch site of a sea eagle! The accommodation was comfortable but the room (and the house) suffers from a slight odour of smoke and a vast array of knick knacks on every surface.... More

Apple Lodge has the qualities of a very good guest house- welcoming, and very much reflecting the feel of a nice family home. Lovely breakfasts, and extras like home made biscuits made you appreciate you woulldn't get this in a bigger establishment. Lochranza is a very attractive village to stay in. Its at the more scenic but less populated end... More

We stayed at the Apple Lodge for several nights for our anniversary. It was very comfortable in a chintzy sort of way, The room was well decorated and had a pleasant outlook. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was available at that time, which is necessary as the dining options in Lochranza are very limited. A good option... More
