I can't deny I haven't actually stayed at this hotel but have eaten there over a dozen times during 4 trips to Lochranza within the last 18 months. The staff are always friendly and the meals are simply outstanding! more

stayed at the lochranza hotel for 2 nights. arrived at 11am due to catching an earlier ferry than had originally booked. Room wasnt ready but wasnt a problem as had tea and a delicious scone in the bar while waiting. Only took half an hour then got shown to room which was room 1 and well worth the wait. very... more

Pros: Stunning view! Ask for room overlooking the water. Very quiet location, good size ensuite room, delicious breakfast, onsite parking. Small hotel with bar downstairs that serves food. Appears to be the social center of very, very quiet Lochranza. Visit theclose by Arran Distillery... wow.. the creme liquour is to die for! Cons: Unfortunately, the host was not particularly friendly... more

Spent 3 nights in this hotel. Facilities were good, with room appearing to be newly refurbished.Shame the bed had not been replaced/mended - it creaked badly all night every time we moved.- due to problems with the food (see below) this went unreported and did add to the discomfort of the stay. Service was not on the agenda at this... more

A great looking hotel let down by staff attitude. After our camping holiday on Aaron got of to a bad start (tent poles snapped due to wind!) we enquired about vacancies at the Lochranza Hotel. Strangely, our trip to Lochranza hotel was not as expected! The manager we met at made it clear that we were an inconvenience (we had... more

We stayed at the Lochranza Hotel for 3 nights end April/beginning May. We had been told we'd see wildlife around Lochranza but didn't expect to be greeted by a deer grazing over the road from the hotel car park! My husband and I had room 10, the lovely sized double with a sit in bay window overlooking the loch, mountains,... more

This delightful hotel is situated in the small but very popular village of Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. A warm welcome awaits the visitor from the very helpful staff and also awaiting is a rather good, no, excellent collection of single malt whiskies. But, before getting to the whisky, a word about the staff and hotel. I’ve not actually... more

We've just returned from beautiful Arran during which time we stayed at the Hotel Lochranza. Fortunately we stayed in one of the two rooms at the front with a bay window & views of the loch & castle ruin (ask for room 1 or 10 if you have to stay here), which was the only saving grace. The room was... more

Hello Chips ss, Just a few points. 1. The rooms 1 and 10 were both redecorated recarpeted and refurnished at the beginning of the season 07 obviously not your taste but certainly not tired. 2 The food is fresh, home made using the best of local ingredients where possible. The sausages come from our local butcher who has won awards...

Great location on the island of Arran w/views to die for. Food was above average for Scotland. Try the Steak and Ale pie. Great atmosphere in the bar with an interesting array of very friendly locals and guests. Ask for George the owner. He'll keep you laughing all night long with his wonderful sense of humor. Can't wait to go... more

The Hotel Lochranza is like many older and more tired English hotels. I suspect they make most of their money downstairs in the local, lively and friendly pub and restaurant. The upstairs rooms are a bit long in the tooth, but ultimately fine. Like our guide book mentioned, the front two rooms probably have views to die for over the... more
