I visited Ballahane House with my husband in March as we were visiting family on the Isle of Man. I have to say, that we were a little worried having read one negative review and thinking that standards may have slipped but our worries were totally without cause (I wonder whether we even stayed in the same house as "EastAngliaBunny"!)... We have been travelling to the Isle of Man for years on business and wish we had found Ballahane before. Its classy, discreet, incredibly comfortable and homely but also the owners are professional and don't intrude on your space. Nothing is too much trouble especially for breakfast and we were given a wide and free choice above and beyond the... More

We booked the Ballahane for a short break, after reading all the positive comments on Trip Adviser. After staying there however, we are disappointed not to share these views, and although we had a lovely time on the Isle of Man, which is pretty and unspoilt, this guest house was the worst thing about our holiday. I think that David,... More

Of the 21 reviews we have received this one stands out as contradicting all the others. The guest's opinions is their own and I cant argue with how they choose to interpret the hardness of softeness of beds for example. I can however take exception to inaccuracies such as their comments on lengths and distances to nearby restaurants. Other reviewers... More

We recently spent our wedding anniversary at Ballahane house, which is a delightfully situated in beautiful Manx countryside. The Maddrells, Julie & David, who run the place are friendly and helpful couple who are justifiably proud of their home. Harry the Ginger Cat is equally companiable and likes to have his chin stroked unlike the big black Manx cat who... More

Julie and David were excellent hosts from the moment we arrived. Our bedroom was extremely clean, modern and comfortable, with small finishing touches which reflected the care and attention to detail Julie and David give to their guests. The delicious breakfast was freshly prepared every day and cooked to order, the toast was brought to the table hot with helpful... More

Our recent stay at Ballahane House was a pleasure from start to finish. We were immediately welcomed by Julie Maddrell, whose kind help with restaurant reservations and suggestions concerning the points of interest on the Isle of Man throughout our stay was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and bright, and the bathroom brand new. The location a short distance... More

This really is a 5 star experience and this review is written a month after we stayed! Ballahane House is thoughtfully designed with the guests in mind, from the superb lounge and dining area to the well appointed bedrooms (we stayed in the Blue Room - queen bed and tastefully modern separate bathroom). Julie's welcome was warm and sincere and... More

What can we say! Ballahane House is the very best guest house we have ever stayed in. Every detail is perfect:- the house is lovely and the guest dining area and lounge are wonderful. Our room was large, furnished beautifully and had an above average en suite with a great shower. The king size bed was very comfy and the... More

We have just returned from a excellent May Bank Holiday TT Racing weekend. We were six men, all staying at the Ballahane House for BB. The accomadation, was at a very high standard, and breakfast was equally as good. We were given a very warm welcome by the owners, and were made to feel at home nothing was too much... More

Julie is an ex-teacher, and if she and David were subjected to the B&B equivalent of ‘OFSTED’ for their efforts at Ballahane House, we feel sure they would be identified as a ‘Centre of Excellence’. Every aspect of our experience as their guests was top class. The well-located house was lovely, with beautiful garden and super view. Our room (the... More
