Absolutely beautiful building with beach on one side and rambling moors on the other. Helen is a great cook and both of them bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. I wish I could have stayed longer! Steve more

I stayed at Wild Heather with a friend as part of a grand tour of the Orkneys. Lots of tea on arrival and Helen and Derek were the perfect hosts. Our room was nice and big, and the en-suite was modern and clean. Breakfast was just perfect - as usually our eyes were bigger than our bellies but it was... more

Helen and Derek made our stay a very pleasant one... The room was comfortable, the food superb and the hospitality first class... you really couldn't wish for better. Situated right at the beach so perfect for evening strolls with Paddy (the resident cat who thinks he's a dog!) and being watched by the occasional seal popping it's head up for... more

A very comfortable well decorated B and B. Excellent shower room and comfy bed. The conservatory looks out on to the shore of Mill Bay, the shore is only yards away, where you can watch the sea birds, while you relax or eat. Nothing was too much trouble, and dietry requirements were easily dealt with. We wish we had stayed... more

We have spend two days at the Wild Heather B&B in May and we enjoyed it very much. The house is an very charming old one. The room is nice and cosy and there is a conservatory, where you can sit at the evening, overlooking the bay. We had travelled by bus from Kirkwall to Hoy, but it wasn't any... more

Modern, comfortable ensuite room with most things one would get in a hotel, including personal soap and shower gel, kettle, fruit, good towels. Slightly small but adequate. My husband got frustrated with the drawers that did not slide well. Guests have use of a conservatory overlooking the bay, with great birdwatching. Well cooked, generous meals at fantastic value. Nice garden... more

Thank you for this review and thank you for the constructive points made. The problem with the draws sticking has been rectified and they slide away freely now. Regarding no TV that refers only to the conservatory as there is saterlite TV in the bedrooms. Hopefully the scenery from the conservatory is a destressing nature programme in its self. Thank...

Wild Heather B&B sits on the eastern shore of the Isle of Hoy, about a mile north of the village of Lyness. Mill House, where Wild Heather B&B is located, is 100 years old, and has been converted by current proprietors for use as a B&B. Work is still on-going, but this does not affect guests at all as it... more
