The Ayre´s Rock hostel is situated overlooking a beautiful bay on the isle of Sanday in the Orkney Isles, easy access to walking grounds from here. The drawback, it is quite out of the way from anything, so even to get to the local shop a car is required!
The room was well equipped with a comfortable bed, unfortunately only a window in the roof, that couldn´t be opened.
The kitchen was adequately equipped, but some of the pots and cuttlery were a bit dirty.
The Ayre´s Rock also offers Fish & Chips Takeaway on Saturday nights, which was really tasty and a nice crafts shop with a variety of locally produced crafts.
In a nutshell, a good place to stay and good value for money! more
