My husband and I stayed at the Balnearn for only night; it was one of the b&bs chosen for us by our bike tour company. It was a lovely place; the room was fine, the bathroom very nice, and the dining room very lovely. The breakfast was great, the garden charming - i'm just sorry for the very friendly owners,... more

Having travelled all the way from Devon by car with two children, we arrived at Balnearn House somewhat weary. The welcome we received from Claire and Mark was fantastic, and we were quickly settled into a delightful large family room. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel like part of the family. We only wish we could... more

We were welcomed into Balnearn House by the friendly owner and although just a short stay we would all recommend staying. Unfortunately we could not persuade Claire for a 5am cooked breakfast but failing that we had full breakfast kindly laid out for us to help us get good start to the Caledonia Etape (-:. only kidding 5am was too... more

I've stayed at Balnearn the last two Septembers, and both experiences were excellent. Claire and Mark are extremely friendly and accommodating. The two rooms I've stayed in in the house (more like a small inn) weren't terribly large, but they were clean and inviting with comfortable beds and nice linens. There's a large sitting room for guests on the second... more

We stayed here for two nights in August. The owners were very friendly - really making us feel at home. Tasty breakfasts and pleasant room. Great place to use as a base for exploring Aberfeldy (a lovely little town) and the surrounding area. more

The house is lovely and we had a large room. There was a small collection of videos & books in the room to use, which was great! Breakfast was hot & cooked to order, but the portions were quite small compared to other places we stayed on our trip. more

My wife and I stayed at Balnearn as a stop on a longer trip around Scotland. The owners are charming. From the outside, the building is a little disappointing, in the sense that it looks more exciting on the website. But the owners have been decorating and the inside is very nice; there's lots of antique furniture, and high ceilings.... more

My husband and I travelled to Scotland for a long weekend and came across this lovely guest house. The owners were suprisingly young, but very warm and welcoming. We stayed in a lovely big room, with a large bathroom, so we were very comfortable. The lounge was upstairs and had views over the snowy hills and a log fire -... more

We stayed at this B & B strictly for the location. I thought it was a lovely old home from the photo on the internet but it was more like an old hotel. The rooms were dorm roomish and the bathrooms were small. This is a B & B that has a liquor license so be careful to drink only... more

While traveling thorugh the Scots countryside my wife and I decided to stop in Aberfeldy and, spotting the Balnearn, stopped in to inquire as to vacancies. What we found was an exceedingly nice place to stay. Mark and Claire Dimmock are very friendly folks and we were greeted warmly and sincerely. The establishment is a delight; the rooms are large... more
