We purchased some groupon vouchers for this stay (£99) - 2 nights 16/17 Dec 2011. The deal included B&B + wine when purchased with evening meal. In brief, the Hotel was lovely, a big open fire in the bar area made it the perfect place to doze off after a walk out in the snow and fresh air. The brothers... More

We just had a weekend break in the Dornoch Castle Hotel and I can safely say it was the best weekend break I have ever had. The staff were so helpful and friendly I felt like it was a home away from home and settled in straight away. There was a small decanter of sherry in the room as well... More

Dornoch castle is situated in an absolutely beautiful village with magnificent beaches which must be superb in summer. My check-in was efficient and I was shown to my room which was probably the smallest room I have every stayed in - it must have been a converted broom cupboard! However,my host did explain this as the hotel was full. Not too much to... Thank you Morchwestport for your comments. I have spoken to my colleague who was working that night and showed you to your room and she has advised me that at no point was a request for another room mentioned and when asked you said that the room was fine. If you had mentioned to us at the time of your... More

My wife and I had a lovely night in the Dornoch Castle hotel. We splashed out and stayed in the "Cathedral View" room, it had all the nice touches....champagne, sherry, dressing gowns, amazing selection of beverages and jacuzzi amongst others. The evening meal was outstanding and although the breakfast wasn't quite up to the same high standard it was certainly... More

Thank you pami.eire for your comments. Dornoch outwith the tourist season still has plenty to see and do, there are beautiful walks to experience with gorgeous scenery, golfing for the golf enthusiast and the public transport system is very good should you wish to explore other towns etc nearby not to mention the fantastic shops in the village, Dornoch is... We spent several days at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised for the middle of January, there were other guests in residence. Food was excellent, although overpriced. The room was nice, clean and large, however it was cold and would have benefitted from extra blankets in the room. We also ate in Eagle pub, along the road, food and service was excellent. We visited the... More

We stayed here at new year for a couple of nights and we enjoyed our stay. The chef is wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious, although quite pricey. Worth it though. Rooms were nice and hotel was as expected, full of character. My only gripe was the attitude of some staff members, a bit too full of their own... More

Dear David M, Thank you for your recent review. We do apologise that you were not able to enjoy a glass of wine at Dornoch Castle Hotel, however the Scottish Licensing Regulations state that we cannot serve alcoholic beverages on New Years Day unless food is being consumed. The only exception is for residents of the hotel. I appreciate that... More

Looking at a number of the reviews posted I had expected the rooms to look quite modern. I did not expect the inside of the "castle" to look like a castle, but a hotel. In this sense, I was very satisfied. The best part of the hotel is room containing the bar. The bar and the staircase next to it... More

Thank you the_phototraveller for your comments. We are glad you had a pleasant stay with us and enjoyed the various different areas of the Castle and building. I am very sorry however that you feel that our food was hideously overpriced and the wine cheap. With regards to our food, all of our food is sourced locally wherever possible which... More
